Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a further six point deduction by the English Football League.
The latest charges relate to the club’s failure to pay players’ wages in March, May and June this year, as well as other non-payments to staff and HMRC.
The Owls received a 12-point deduction on Oct. 24 after filing for administration.
The club currently sit at the bottom of the Championship table, with -10 points.
Further charges may occur, but there will be no further point penalties and the current “fee cap” will be lifted once a new owner is established.
Former owner Deifon Chansiri, who ended his relationship with the club after it was placed into administration, has also been banned from being an owner or director of an EFL club for the next three years.
A statement from the EFL said: “Sheffield Wednesday FC has been handed an immediate penalty of six points for breaching EFL rules relating to payment obligations and the club’s former owner, Digifone Chansiri, has been banned from being an owner or director of any EFL club for a period of three years.”
“Sanctions against both the club and Mr. Chansiri can be confirmed once the parties have reached agreement on the appropriate sanctions, which have subsequently been approved by the chair of the appointed independent disciplinary committee.”
Sheffield Wednesday are bottom of the Championship table, 27 points behind Swansea in 21st place.
“Chansiri will not be returning to the EFL but feels relegation of the Owls is inevitable.”
