Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are among the finalists for the PGA Tour’s Player of the Year award, while Tommy Fleetwood and Ben Griffin are also in the running for the Jack Nicklaus Award.

The PGA Tour has named Scheffler and McIlroy, who have enjoyed great success and multiple wins this season, as the top two players in the world on its four-man finalist list, while also selecting Fleetwood and Griffin for the first time.

The Player of the Year award will be determined by member voting, and PGA Tour members who have played in at least 15 tournaments during the 2025 season will be eligible to vote. Voting closes on December 12th and winners will be announced shortly.

Scheffler won six of the 20 tournaments he entered, finishing outside the top 10 in only three, and is considered the favorite to win the Jack Nicklaus Award for the fourth straight season.

The world No. 1 won the CJ Cup, PGA Championship and Memorial in four straight tournaments, and ended the third round of his career Grand Slam with a four-stroke victory at the Open at Royal Portrush.

Scheffler also won the BMW Championship in August and started his FedExCup fall campaign by winning the Pro Core Championship in California.The 29-year-old also won the Byron Nelson Award for his lowest scoring average.

McIlroy won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in the season’s opening round on the PGA Tour, then a month later defeated J.J. Spaun in a playoff to win The Players and complete a career Grand Slam with a dramatic victory at the Masters.

Griffin won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Andrew Novak and went on to compete in both the Charles Schwab Challenge and the World Wide Technology Championship, and the American’s impressive campaign also earned him a spot on Team USA’s Ryder Cup squad.

Fleetwood clinched the FedEx Cup title with his long-awaited first PGA Tour win at the season-ending Tour Championship. The Englishman also finished runner-up at the Travelers Championship, rising to a career-high third place in the world.

What about Rookie of the Year?

The five nominees for the 2025 Arnold Palmer Award as PGA Tour Rookie of the Year have also been announced, with Michael Brennan, Stephen Fisk, William Mow, Aldrich Potgieter and Carl Willips, who have won every event in the past year, making the final list.

Brennan won the Bank of Utah Championship on a sponsor exemption, becoming the seventh player to win within his first three starts on the PGA Tour, and Fisk won the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Mo won the ISCO Championship, Potgieter was the only rookie to make the FedExCup Playoffs, winning the Rocket Classic earlier in the campaign, and Willips made the short list after his success at the Puerto Rico Open.
