AI research institute Anthropic isn’t slowing down its efforts to acquire enterprise customers. The company announced Wednesday that it is expanding its partnership with cloud data company Snowflake with a $200 million, multi-year AI contract to bring Anthropic’s large-scale language models to Snowflake’s platform and, in turn, to the company’s massive customer base.
“Anthropic joins a very select group of partners with nine-figure collaborations, product-level co-innovation, and a proven track record of working together for customers around the world,” Snowflake co-founder and CEO Sridhar Ramaswamy said in a blog post. “The combined power of Claude and Snowflake is raising the bar for how enterprises deploy scalable, context-aware AI based on their most important business data.”
The agreement is also positioned as a joint go-to-market initiative to bring AI agents to enterprise customers.
Claude Sonnet 4.5 powers Snowflake Intelligence, the cloud company’s enterprise AI service. Snowflake says customers will be able to perform multimodal data analysis using Claude models, including Claude Opus 4.5. Customers can also use the model to build their own custom agents.
“Enterprises have spent years building secure and trusted data environments, and now they require AI that operates without compromise within that environment,” Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei said in a statement. “This partnership brings Claude directly into Snowflake, where the data already resides. This is a meaningful step toward making frontier AI truly useful for business.”
Anthropic has closed a number of large enterprise deals in recent months as it prioritizes selling to businesses rather than individual users. This is a strategy in contrast to its biggest rival, OpenAI, which has followed a more popular growth path.
In October, Anthropic signed a deal with Deloitte to deploy the Claude chatbot to the consulting giant’s employee base of more than 500,000 staff. In the same week, Anthropic partnered with IBM to bring some of its LLMs to IBM’s software products.

The success of Anthropic’s companies is not surprising, as Anthropic’s model is gaining strong and increasing traction among companies. A study conducted by Menlo Ventures in July found that businesses prefer Anthropic’s AI products over models from other AI companies.
