US President Donald Trump has indicated that the US would consider further military action against Iran if it rebuilds its nuclear program and missile capabilities.

Speaking in Florida on Monday, President Trump addressed the possibility of a follow-up to the June airstrike that damaged three Iranian nuclear facilities.

“Now we’re hearing that Iran is trying to rise again, and if that happens, we’re going to have to defeat Iran,” Trump told reporters. “We’re going to beat them. We’re going to beat them to the ground. But I hope that doesn’t happen.”

The comments came as President Trump welcomed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Palm Beach, Florida.

President Trump said the United States and Israel are “very victorious” over their enemies, citing the wars in Gaza and Lebanon and the June attack on Iran.

Asked if the United States would support an Israeli attack on Iran that would target Tehran’s missile program, Trump said: “If they continue with the missiles, yes. Nuclear, fast. Okay, one, absolutely yes. And the other, we’ll do it right away.”

Even more in the future…
