google’s parent company alphabet market capitalization exceeded apple’s First time since 2019.
Alphabet’s market cap ended Wednesday at $3.88 trillion. Alphabet stock rose more than 2% on Wednesday, closing at $322.03. Meanwhile, Apple stock has fallen more than 4% over the past five days, ending Wednesday with a market capitalization of $3.84 trillion.
The market capitalization reversal highlights the different directions Alphabet and Apple are heading in terms of their respective artificial intelligence strategies.
Alphabet finished 2025 as one of Wall Street’s top performers after gearing up for an AI resurgence. In November, the company announced Ironwood, the seventh generation of its tensor processing unit. Wall Street firm Raymond James this week downgraded Apple’s credit rating, saying it would be difficult to make a profit in 2026.
