Dom Taylor has been banned from darts for six months by the Darts Regulatory Authority (DRA) after testing positive for cocaine and cannabis at the World Darts Championship.
Taylor had already been banned from all PDC events in December and stripped of his £25,000 prize money for his performance at the world championships.
A disciplinary committee hearing found the drug offense occurred before the tournament, but it was Taylor’s second offense and DRA rules mandate a six-month suspension.
“Accordingly, having regard to all available evidence, the committee was satisfied that Mr. Taylor’s ingestion of cocaine and cannabis took place as part of the competition and not after the start of the World Championships on December 11, 2025,” the DRA statement said.
“Following this finding, the committee has decided that as this is Mr Taylor’s second offence, he must be suspended for six months under these Rules in accordance with Articles 10.9(a) and 10.9(b) of the UKAD Anti-Doping Rules 2021.”
Taylor will also have his tour card revoked for his violation.
The British player had previously apologized for “blatant lies” after failing a test and being expelled from the world championships, where he defeated Oscar Lukasiak 3-0 in the first round.
Taylor was previously suspended for one month in 2025 after failing a drug test at the Players Championship Final in November 2024, but his suspension was reduced from the original two years after he agreed to undergo a UKAD-approved three-month substance abuse treatment program.
