spotify It adds even more atmosphere.

The music streamer on Thursday unveiled “Prompted Playlists,” an artificial intelligence-driven feature that lets users build custom mixes using their emotions and memories.

“We always hear from our listeners that they love playlists, but creating one yourself can be daunting,” said Surinna Ong, Spotify’s global editorial director, in a statement announcing the news.

The feature is currently in beta for premium subscribers in the US and Canada and will be rolled out through the end of this month. The company began testing in New Zealand in December.

According to the release, playlists can be curated for activities such as “a 30-minute 5K run of high-energy pop or hip-hop at a steady pace, followed by relaxing songs to cool down,” and can also be prompted to include specific artists or time periods.

The company’s editors have created sample prompts that can be found under the Ideas tab.

Unlike previous feature AI playlists, prompt playlists can be scheduled to update daily or weekly with a description of each song’s recommendations.

The platform is leaning heavily into AI, partnering with major music labels and announcing “significant investments in AI research and product development.” sony music group, universal music group and warner music group last year.

Previous AI features in the app include AI DJ, AI playlist, daylist, and more.

Last week, Spotify announced price increases for its premium subscriptions in the US. Starting in February, subscription prices will increase from $11.99 to $12.99 per month.

On January 1, Spotify founder Daniel Ek resigned as CEO and became executive chairman. The company came under fire last year for its investment in defense technology company Hellsing, of which Ek is chairman.

According to online publication The Fader, several artists left the platform in response, including Hotline TNT, Deerhoof, and Xiu Xiu.

In December, the streaming platform released music videos to premium subscribers in the U.S. and Canada, challenging YouTube for market share.
