Caroline Dubois finally got the fight she’s been waiting for, with a lightweight world title unification bout against Terry Harper confirmed.

London-based Dubois, a Tokyo Olympian and WBC lightweight world champion, is a rising star in British boxing.

Harper, from Doncaster, is the more experienced professional and has already had an illustrious career, winning world titles at three different weights. She is the current WBO champion at 135 pounds.

Dubois said he always aims to entertain his fans and will aim for a knockout finish against Harper.

After a smoldering rivalry, Dubois will face Harper on Sunday, April 5 at the Olympia in London, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Dubois told Sky Sports: “I’ve been talking to Terry for a while before this fight. We were supposed to fight at the Royal Albert Hall (last year), so the fight was always in my head and in my heart and the timing was good.”

“I think it worked out well because now we’re here and we’re in a big fight. The first MVP brought it to Britain and it’s a great fight for me and her.”

The card will be Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotion’s first UK event and will feature the undisputed title fight between Dubois vs. Harper and Ellie Scotney live on Sky Sports on Sunday 5th April.

Dubois rose through the professional ranks. In 2024, she won the WBC interim strap by defeating Maria Moneo. With Katie Taylor relinquishing the belt, it was elevated to full world championship status.

She dominated Jessica Camara and escaped with a technical draw after a clash of heads in the third round to retain her championship.

Dubois had another strong performance, defeating Bo Mi Le Sin at the Albert Hall last March, and most recently boxed on the Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul undercard card, losing by a big point to Camila Panatta.

Harper has packed a huge amount of experience into his 20-fight professional career. She became world champion for the first time in super featherweight in 2020, and later that year she fought Natasha Jonas to a draw.

She lost her WBC super featherweight belt to Alicia Baumgardner. Harper moved up to super welterweight and defeated Hannah Rankin to win the WBA title. She defended that title against former world champion Ivana Habazin and drew with boxing legend Cecilia Braeks.

She defeated Rhiannon Dixon to win the WBO lightweight title and became a three-division world champion.

“I’m really excited. I think she’s an established name. She’s a solid fighter. But I think she has more than what she has. I think there’s more to come from me in terms of skill, ability, talent and power,” Dubois stressed.

“It’s a big name. I don’t think there’s a better showcase and it shows how MVP values me and I’m very happy to get to that level. I’ve had very few fights, just 13 fights. This will be my 13th fight. I’m still in the early stages of my career. I have another big fight ahead of me. There’s a lot to come.”

“It’s unifying and it’s big.”

“The Biggest Stake”

Also on the Sky Sports bill at Olympia on April 5, Catford’s Ellie Scotney will be looking to make history. She will fight Mayeli Flores, and if she wins, she will become the youngest ever British undisputed champion in an era when Scotney held four belts.

Scotney promises an “all-action” performance against Mayeli Flores and says if she wins, she will turn her attention to Amanda Serrano

“It hasn’t really hit me yet. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and I’m ready,” Scotney told Sky Sports News. “I know she’s coming in for every marble, just like I am, so I know this is the biggest gamble and the toughest opponent I have in front of me.”

He added: “To be honest, I think my nose represents my style! I get beaten up a little too often! All the action and I’m from South London and I think I represent that in the ring as well.”

“The focus is on becoming the undisputed presence in the super bantamweight division, and God willing, I intend to step up to continue that journey.”

Watch Dubois vs. Harper and Scotney vs. Flores live on Sky Sports on Sunday, April 5th.
