Charlie Hull has risen to No. 3 in the world in the latest Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. This is the highest ranking for a British woman in the 20-year history of the ranking.
Hull won the season-opening PIF Saudi Women’s International on the European Women’s Tour on Saturday, scoring a final-round 65 for a one-shot victory over Akie Iwai and Cassandra Alexander.
Following her win at the LPGA Tour’s Kroger Queen City Championship in September, it was her fifth title on the European Women’s Tour and her recent success also saw her reach a career-high world ranking.
Hull moved up from fifth to third in the latest Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings standings released Monday, ahead of KPMG Women’s Professional Golf Championship winner Minjee Lee and AIG Women’s Open winner Miyu Yamashita.
Currently, only Gino Titicle and Nelly Korda have a higher world ranking than Hull, and England will have a chance to move closer to becoming the first women’s world number one over the coming months.
After Saturday’s win in Riyadh, Hull said, “I’ve been practicing really hard this offseason, so I’m happy to see the results so quickly, and it’s one of the big events in the LET.”
The 29-year-old is one of two British players in the world’s top 10, along with Lottie Ward, who had a breakthrough maiden season in 2025 after turning professional, and is currently ranked eighth in the world.
Hull hasn’t finished below a tie for 21st place since early June, finishing runner-up at last summer’s AIG Women’s Open and has three more world top-five finishes in late 2025.
How mashed potatoes helped Hull win against Saudi Arabia
Hull was in 11th place in Riyadh, three shots behind after 54 holes, but an eventful round with one eagle, seven birdies and two bogeys moved him up the leaderboard on the final day.
A birdie, eagle, birdie sequence from the 11th, followed by two more birdies in the final four holes to complete the clubhouse goal and win the 2024 Aramco Team Series event in the same city in Riyadh for the second time.
“After nine holes, I ran to the bathroom and also ate some mashed potatoes, so I don’t know if that gave me a little bit of strength for the back nine,” Hull added.
“We needed a win because we’re almost done renovating our home! We’re looking forward to settling in and celebrating our birthday once everything is done in the next few weeks.”
