President Donald Trump met with CEOs of major defense industry companies at the White House on Friday afternoon, as the war with Iran concluded its first full week.

“We discussed production and production schedules,” Trump said in a social media post after the meeting. “We agreed to quadruple production of ‘elite’ weapons, with the goal of reaching the highest levels of volume as quickly as possible.”

President Trump did not explain what he meant by “sophisticated weapons.” This term is used in the defense industry to describe unique technologies and systems.

President Trump said the meeting also included the following corporate CEOs: BAE Systems, lockheed martin, Northrop Grumman, RTX Co., Ltd., boeing, honeywell aerospace and L3 Harris Technologies“Missile Solution”.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also attended the meeting.

“The expansion started three months before we spoke, and many of these weapons are already in factories and in production,” Trump said on Truth Social.

“We have a virtually unlimited supply of intermediate and upper intermediate munitions, which we are using in Iran, as an example, and more recently in Venezuela. But nevertheless, we are also increasing orders at these levels,” the president said.

“We have agreed to quadruple production of critical munitions,” Lockheed Martin said in a statement.

“As a result of President Trump’s leadership, we launched this effort months ago with Secretary Hegseth and Deputy Secretary Feinberg, and we remain committed to working with our industry partners to further strengthen the unparalleled capabilities of the U.S. military with the world’s largest munitions fleet. We are working with urgency and will deliver results,” Lockheed Martin said.

“The U.S. military maintains sufficient munitions, munitions, and weapons to continue destroying the Iranian regime and achieve the goals of Operation Epic Fury,” White House press secretary Caroline Levitt said in a statement ahead of the closed-door meeting.

The White House is on the defensive after detailed reports detailing concerns about supply shortages of both munitions and anti-missile defenses if the war with Iran drags on.

“Nonetheless, President Trump has always been diligent about strengthening the military, which is why this meeting with defense contractors was scheduled several weeks ago,” Levitt said.

“The President will continue to push American companies to build the world’s best American weapons faster.”
