Jake Paul is looking to make a comeback, and his next goal is to take on Francis Ngannou.

Paul, a YouTube influencer turned professional boxer, shocked the boxing world in December when he fought former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and lasted all of six rounds.

Ngannou is an elite heavyweight mixed martial artist. The former UFC heavyweight champion also has experience in boxing. He went on to take on Tyson Fury for 10 rounds and was knocked out by Joshua in the second round.

“I can’t say I have a long list of opponents[for the next fight]. I think Francis Ngannou said something terrible just recently. He’s an easy fight for me,” Paul told Sky Sports News.

Paul is not a natural heavyweight and has spent the majority of his professional career at cruiserweight. But he’s not daunted by playing against another big man. “I think he’s a terrible boxer,” Paul said of Ngannou.

“I’m going to go back to heavyweight and knock him out like I did with Joshua, knock him unconscious. He knows I outlasted him in the Joshua fight. I didn’t get sent off.”

But he wondered if Ngannou would be hesitant to face him in a boxing match despite being an experienced fighter.

“Maybe he won’t go to the game because deep down he doesn’t want to embarrass himself,” Paul suggested.

“So, for me, that’s the interesting one on the list.”

Paul plans to resume his boxing career, although he still needs to recover from a broken jaw sustained in a stoppage loss to Joshua.

“We’ll see how the jaw continues to heal,” he said. “I’m definitely going to keep fighting.”
