Michaela Mayer will be at ringside this weekend to watch Chantel Cameron compete amid speculation about a future world title showdown.
Former undisputed super lightweight champion Cameron will fight Mikaela Kotaskova for the WBO super welterweight title in 10 three-minute rounds this Sunday on the undercard of the world title unification bout between Caroline Dubois and Terry Harper, live on Sky Sports.
Mayer defeated Mary Spencer by unanimous decision in October to unify the WBA, WBC and WBO super welterweight titles, but the American also holds the WBO welterweight belt and could face unified British champion Lauren Price in an undisputed world title fight.
“I’m a big fan of Mayer,” Cameron told Sky Sports earlier this month. “I really do. Even if I want to fight her. She knows I want to fight her, that’s a sign of respect. I’m a big Mayer fan. I think she’s been through quite a bit.”
“I think she beat Natasha Jonas at Liverpool and I think she was really unlucky against Alicia (Baumgardner). I think she has worked really hard and I’m a big supporter of her, but if she becomes undisputed then I want to strip her of the belt.
“I hope she becomes undisputed and then I win the belt.”
Cameron previously said he would like to see Price and Mayer face off against the winner of all the belts.
Price will return to the ring for the first time since March 2025 this Saturday in Cardiff to defend her unified WBA, WBC and IBF welterweight titles against interim WBA champion Stephanie Pineiro Aquino.
Cameron enters Sunday with a 21-1 professional record on her resume, including one win and one loss against Irish boxing icon Katie Taylor. Her last fight was in July 2025, when she defeated Jessica Kamara by unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden.
Watch Caroline Dubois vs Terry Harper live on Sky Sports on Sunday 5th April.
