Police discovered golf legend Tiger Woods had two opioid pills in his pants pocket after his rollover crash in Florida last week, according to an arrest affidavit released Tuesday.
When deputies arrived at the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Jupiter Friday afternoon, Woods had “bloodshot and glassy eyes,” “very dilated pupils” and was “sweating profusely,” according to an affidavit from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
“Forest’s movements were lethargic and slow,” the deputy said in the affidavit.
“I asked Woods if he had consumed any alcoholic beverages today and he replied, ‘Nothing,'” the aide wrote.
“I asked Mr. Woods if he had taken any prescription medication and he replied, ‘I have taken some,'” the deputy wrote.
During the search, police “discovered two white pills” in the golfer’s left pants pocket, according to the affidavit. Identification marks indicated the tablets were the opioid drug hydrocodone.
Woods underwent a breath test, but no alcohol was detected in his system. However, police said the man refused to take a urine test.
Woods was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, criminal damage to property, and refusing a urine test.
