Experts give their opinions ahead of the world lightweight title unification bout between Caroline Dubois and Terry Harper, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports from 7pm on Sunday.
Michaela Mayer (2nd division champion)
It’s going to be a great fight. If I had to choose a winner, I might have to choose Caroline Dubois just because of her amateur pedigree.
She’s a really good boxer, but Terry Harper always gave us the matches we wanted to see.
She is never afraid to step into the ring with a challenging opponent. We see it on her resume, so we can’t overlook it and we can’t exclude her.
I’ll definitely go all the way to a decision. Caroline is probably the better and technically better boxer. It doesn’t seem like she’s stopping Harper.
Nina Meinke (IBF Featherweight Champion)
It’s going to be an interesting fight. It’s been crazy what’s been happening the last few weeks. I’ll go with Caroline.
I think she’s a stronger, tougher fighter, but I’m rooting for Terry. I like Terry’s attitude.
I like that she doesn’t have any hate or anything, so I like that a little bit more. Terry is also a strong fighter.
Johnny Nelson (former world champion)
I think it will be a victory within the distance.
I know it was just a little push (in the first match of fight week), but I was surprised that Terry was actually that strong.
She had to pull herself together. I know I’m reading too much into it, but I think Caroline understood her strength.
If they end up in tears, I think I’ll support Caroline. But I don’t think it’s easy. I think Terry has put in more miles, but I think Caroline is more of a chaser than a runner.
A victory within a distance that was more difficult than expected for Caroline.
Fraser Clarke (Olympic medalist)
Harper is a very experienced campaigner, but Caroline seems to have bad intentions towards her in this moment, and I really love that because I remember a quiet and shy Caroline Dubois.
I remember the sight of Caroline Dubois, defeated and devastated after the Olympics.
I’m going to say Caroline gets through because I love the nastiness she has right now and I think she’s a phenomenal fighter. I think her evil side stopped Harper.
Claressa Shields (absolute multi-division champion)
Nothing against Harper. I’m just a fan of young Caroline.
She has found greatness in herself, she respects the game, and she continues to learn and get better. I love what I see from her. Listen, she’s someone worth considering.
Lawrence Okolie (former world champion)
I think it’s a great fight and I think Dubois is probably one of the best boxers in the world. She just needs to go out and show it and get this experience.
Fighting someone like this will only make it worse. It’s obvious that she will be competing against an experienced world champion, but I think she has more than what she needs.
