President Trump threatens to bring ‘hell’ to Iran over Strait of Hormuz as deadline approaches | US-Israel war against Iran News

The US president threatened to attack power plants and bridges on Tuesday in an expletive-filled social media post.

US President Donald Trump has threatened to attack civilian infrastructure in Iran, including bridges and power plants, if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened by Monday’s deadline.

President Trump made the threat Sunday in an expletive-filled social media post in which he repeated his previous threat to attack critical infrastructure across Iran.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day rolled into one in Iran. There’s no better day than this!!! Open the fucking straits, you crazy motherfuckers, or you’ll live in hell – look! Praise be to Allah,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

On March 26, President Trump set a 10-day deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key shipping route for global energy markets that has been shut down since the United States and Israel first attacked Iran on February 28.

He told Fox News on Sunday that Iran is currently negotiating with the United States and believes the two countries can reach an agreement by the deadline.

Iranian officials have slammed President Trump’s threats and vowed to retaliate against attacks on Iranian infrastructure.

In response to Trump’s threat, Iran’s mission to the United Nations said, “Once again, the president of the United States has publicly threatened to destroy infrastructure vital to the survival of Iranian civilians.”

He added: “The international community and all countries have a legal obligation to prevent such heinous war crimes. We must act now. Tomorrow is too late.”

Iranian Presidential Spokesman Seyyed Mehdi Tabatabai also said the strait would only be reopened after war damages were paid.

He said these payments would be made in the form of transit fees through a “new legal regime” around the strait, consistent with previous Iranian statements that it may seek to convert its control of the strait into a system of paying tolls for ships passing through it even after the war ends.

He dismissed Trump’s threats as a sign that the United States had “resorted to obscenity and nonsense out of pure desperation and anger.”

The US president has frequently reiterated that Iran wants a deal to end the war and that the fighting will end soon after the conflict began. Iran has said it is not seeking an end to the war and vowed to step up escalation across the region if its infrastructure is targeted.

Throughout the war, U.S. officials have threatened Iran with overwhelming violence if it does not yield to U.S. demands. Last week, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth threatened to take Iran “back to the Stone Age.”

U.S. and Israeli attacks have already targeted civilian infrastructure and facilities, including bridges, schools, medical facilities, and universities. Experts have warned that some of these attacks could amount to war crimes.

The US president said he would hold a press conference at the White House on Monday.

President Trump also provided additional details about the operation to locate and rescue the pilot of an F-15E fighter jet shot down over Iran on Friday.

“We rescued a seriously injured and truly brave F-15 crew member and officer from deep in the mountains of Iran,” he said in another social media post on Sunday.

“A great show of courage and talent by everyone!”
