Bournemouth have reached an agreement to appoint Marco Rose to replace Andoni Iraola at the Vitality Stadium.
Rose will officially take over as manager this summer, but after Iraola confirmed his departure from the club, an agreement has been reached allowing both the new manager and the club to plan for next season.
Iraola revealed on Tuesday that he will step down as head coach when his contract expires at the end of the season, bringing his three-year reign at the Cherries to an end.
Sky Sports News reported that former RB Leipzig manager Rose is the frontrunner to replace Iraola, and the club are working quickly to make a selection.
The 49-year-old has always been a top target to replace Iraola due to their similar footballing philosophy and style of play.
There is no immediate official announcement, but the club is working on paperwork and work visa preparations.
The composition of his backroom team is currently under discussion.
Rose has not been a manager since being sacked by RB Leipzig in March 2025.
Will Rose be a good fit for Bournemouth?
Mark McAdam on Sky Sports News:
The 49-year-old is available after being released by RB Leipzig in March 2025 due to poor performances in the league and Champions League. However, he has won a silver medal and has Champions League experience.
The pursuit of trophies and Europe is the next step for Bournemouth. The question on the south coast is whether they can add a significant trophy to their cabinet for the first time in the club’s history.
Rose also fits that criteria when it comes to his football philosophy. He describes the basic tenets of his playing style as “emotion, hunger and being active.”
“We want to be very aggressive on the ball and sprint a lot,” he previously said. “We want to win high balls and shorten the distance to goal. We don’t want to play high and wide, we want to be fast, dynamic and aggressively moving forward.”
