Britain’s Prince Louis celebrates his eighth birthday on Thursday, and the royal family is keeping with the tradition of releasing photos to mark the occasion.
An image posted on the social media accounts of his parents, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Wales, shows Louis smiling, arm in arm, wearing a blue quarter-zip.
“Happy Birthday Louis! You’re 8 years old today!” reads the caption.
The Welsh couple celebrated their three children’s birthdays by releasing new photos of each of them.
Louis is the youngest of the trio and fourth in line to the British throne.
According to PA Media News Agency, this year’s photo was taken by photographer Matt Porteous during a family holiday in Cornwall, southwest England.
In last year’s photo, Louis was missing two of his front teeth, but now his adult teeth are growing.
In his seventh birthday photo, Louis wore jeans and a green V-neck jumper over a checked shirt, while his sixth birthday photo showed him lying on his back on the grass with his arms folded in front of him.
Louis is known for his cheeky and playful personality. He gained attention when cameras caught him performing at public events such as Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
Prince Louis, who was 4 years old at the time, turned heads with his elaborate facial expressions during the Jubilee pageant and quickly became a hot topic.
