Davina Perrin has been left out of the England squad announced for the Women’s T20 World Cup, but uncapped teenager Tilly Courteen-Coleman has been included.
Nat Silver-Blunt will captain his country’s team in his seventh T20 World Cup.
She is joined in the squad by uncapped Surrey 18-year-old spinner Courteen-Coleman, Warwickshire’s Issy Wong and Durham’s Lauren Filer, all of whom have been named in the T20 World Cup squad for the first time.

Surrey’s Danny Wyatt Hodge will be playing in his eighth T20 World Cup.
Somerset University’s Charlie Dean is vice-captain and Hampshire fast bowler Lauren Bell will lead the attack, joining a list of excellent all-round cricketers in the squad.

Sky Sports’ Michael Atherton says home side England are definitely on the brink of success.
Syver-Brunt added: “It’s a great honor to lead England to the T20 World Cup at home in front of my family, friends and all of our loyal supporters.”

Corteen-Coleman: ‘I’m on cloud nine’
England debutant Tilly Courteen-Coleman has been given a place in the World Cup squad by the same coach who gave her a Kent cap when she was 11 years old, and the 18-year-old is more than happy with the news.
“I heard some good news that I was very excited about,” said Corteen Coleman. “I’ve been on a cloud ever since.”
“Being new, people don’t have that kind of exposure to me, but it makes a big difference.”
“I love performing under pressure and I have had that experience in front of crowds not only in domestic and county cricket but also in The Hundred.
“I won’t know until I get there, but I feel like I have a great support network around me and I’m as prepared as I can be.”
Farrant: “I’m looking forward to seeing what Corteen-Coleman can do.”

“We’re very excited. That was the only question everyone was thinking about. Will Tilly be chosen? She was chosen just a few months ago for over £100,000.”

Knight: The landscape of women’s sport has changed – England wants World Cup legacy
Heather Knight told Sky Sports that England’s ambition for the home women’s T20 World Cup, which begins in June, is to follow in the footsteps of the Lionesses and Red Roses and “create a real legacy of women’s cricket in this country”.
The 35-year-old says the landscape of women’s sports has changed significantly since 2017 and her team’s World Cup victory. In 2022 and 2025, England’s Lionesses won back-to-back firsts in front of a packed Wembley, and last September the Red Roses won the Rugby World Cup title in front of a packed Twickenham.

“The focus right now is women’s cricket at the World Cup so it’s very exciting, it’s not too far away and it’s a chance to do something really special as a team,” Knight told Sky Sports.
“The home support was huge for us in 2017, the excitement of the crowd and the final at Lord’s was so special.
“This is your chance to make a real impact on your country’s sport and leave a legacy. If we do our job right and are successful this summer, we can leave a real legacy for the sport of women’s cricket in this country.”
“It took a while for us to see change after that success, but I think things are very different now. Especially in women’s cricket, there’s an underlying structure to the game of domestic professionalism. It’s much more normal to be a female cricketer and there’s a lot more visibility.”

Southern Brave’s Tyrie Courteen-Coleman says she is ready to take the next step in her career and play for England.
“If we have that success and things go well, you’ll be hoping that we’re well-positioned to make the most of it and make it a really great moment. We’ve seen what the Lionesses and Red Roses have done, I’ve been watching them very closely and I know some of the players.”
“We want to do something similar and hopefully inspire kids to be really normal and really great girls in cricket.”
ODI and IT20 series vs. New Zealand
In addition to the squad for the T20 World Cup, the selectors have also named the squad for the Metrobank One-Day Series against New Zealand and the two subsequent Vitality IT20 series against New Zealand and India.
At the start of the new ODI World Cup cycle, five players have been added to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup squad for the three-match Metrobank ODI Series, with Kira Chhatri and Jody Grewcock making their maiden international call-ups.
Sophia Dunkley, Charlie Dean and Danny Wyatt Hodge will be absent from the ODI series to manage their workloads, and in the case of Wyatt Hodge, the birth of his first child is on the horizon.
Sarah Glenn was excluded from selection as she continues to recover from a broken finger.
