Beau Greaves has long been at the top of the women’s darts world and has now made PDC Pro Tour history with her three ‘best darts of all time’.
Greaves became the first woman to win a PDC ranking title with a historic 8-7 victory over Michael Smith in the Players Championship 11 final on Monday.
The 22-year-old from Doncaster recorded a landmark victory in darts history with seven consecutive wins at Milton Keynes, including a sensational 142 checkout victory over ‘Bully Boy’ in the showpiece.
The two-time Women’s World Match Play Champion defeated three former world champions, including Rob Cross, Gary Anderson and Smith, in the final three matches of the event en route to the title.
Reflecting on the moment, Greaves admits he still doesn’t fully understand it, but he knows T20, T20 and D11 were three great darts to win the final.
“It’s absolutely amazing. I’m still a bit shocked at the moment, but looking back it’s something I’ll remember forever,” Greaves told Sky Sports.
“I’m very frustrated and it’s going to take me a while to recover.
“When I woke up that day, it was really cool and really comfortable. I was just happy and enjoying the game I was playing.
“The further you go, the harder the players get, and winning the world championship three times in a row made it even more special.
“The last finish was probably the best three darts I’ve ever thrown.
“Sometimes moments like that just happen and it was a fulfilling day for me.
“I was shocked at how well I played. I was definitely nervous, but luckily I was able to get over it.”
While many might have exaggerated the celebrations after such a historic moment, Greaves kept it much more low-key.
“They asked me to go to the pub, but I declined,” she said.
“To be honest, I went back to the hotel, ate a slice of pizza, had some hot chocolate and went to bed.
“I called my family and that was enough.”
“I’m working hard and getting to the level I want to reach.”
The World Youth Championship runner-up has adapted smoothly to life as a PDC Tour card holder and his recent breakthrough win moves him within £4,000 of a provisional spot for October’s World Grand Prix (live on Sky Sports).
She also hit nine darters twice in 2026. He is the newest darter to join Friday’s Development Tour.
Greaves admits that he tries harder and pushes himself, but ultimately enjoys playing darts because he is truly happy in life.
“The Pro Tour is a level I have wanted to reach for a while and it seems like I am performing well and getting good results and results.
“It was also really special to hit my first nine-darter there.
“I’m really happy now too. I’m really enjoying life.
“I’ve always said I’m very lucky to be able to make a living playing darts and that’s the reality. I’m trying to enjoy my life while I’m young and not stress too much.”
Pressure? Just fly the flag for young girls!
Having experienced many history-making moments in such a male-dominated sport, Greaves understands that pressure is part of the job.
But to combat that, she just wants to stay focused on herself and earn more big moments to fly the flag with darts for young girls.
“In some ways the pressure has increased, but I’ve always tried to focus on myself,” Greaves said.
“Fallon (Sherlock) has had time and I’ve been going along with it and I’m trying to do the same.
“I’m trying to raise the flag for young girls out there.
“I probably feel more pressure because of that. I just want to be successful and give young girls someone to look up to.
“I’m just trying to play my game and enjoy everything I play.
And does Greaves have Premier League ambitions for the future? I’m not saying it won’t happen, but there’s still a long way to go before I can qualify.
“We’ll probably have to win the World Darts Championship to get into the Premier League,” Greaves said.
“I never thought I would be able to win my first ranking title now, so I just have to enjoy this moment, get back to training and work hard.
“If we keep going like this, we don’t know where we’ll end up.”
Who will win this year’s Premier League Darts? Luke Humphries will defend his title and you can watch the match every Thursday on Sky Sports until May. Stream darts and other top sports now.
