Democratic Sen. Blumenthal tells CNN that “imminent” military attack is still under consideration

2:06

U.S. Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal told CNN that based on his findings from several briefings and other sources, “an imminent military attack is very much on the table.”

“I have the impression from some of the briefings I’ve received and other sources that an imminent military attack is very much on the table,” he told CNN’s Erin Burnett.

“I can’t be more specific because I’ve received at least one of these briefings, some of them classified, but I’m not saying with certainty when that will happen, but it’s very much on the table as a potential plan,” Blumenthal said.

He added that he didn’t think it should be a surprise to anyone because “military leaders involved in this effort have been talking about this for a while.”

U.S. President Donald Trump will hear from Pentagon officials on Thursday about the latest military options against Iran as he presses the country to agree to a deal, officials said.
