Are you ready for a dramatic finish? Ipswich, Millwall and Middlesbrough still have a chance of making it to the Premier League, while Wrexham, Hull and Derby have hopes of making the Championship play-offs.

In League One, play-off and relegation spots have been decided, while in League Two, the title, promotion spots, play-off spots and both relegation spots are yet to be decided.

All matches will be broadcast live on Sky on Saturday. Here’s what and how it will be decided on the great final day of the 2025/26 season…

Live on Saturday Sky

Ipswich vs QPR, Millwall vs Oxford will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football at 12.30pm, with all other Championship games shown live on Sky Sports+ Exeter vs Bradford will be shown live on Sky Sports Football at 3pm, and all other L1 and L2 matches will be shown live on Sky Sports+

Promotion: Ipswich, Millwall and Middlesbrough battle for second place

Coventry have already secured promotion and the title, so Ipswich, Millwall and Middlesbrough will be competing for the final spot.

Ipswich are in the lead, but a slip could see one of the other two cars jump out and finish second.

Ipswich drew 2-2 with Southampton on Tuesday, setting up a three-way final-day battle for a second automatic promotion spot in the Championship.

Millwall were forced to withdraw from their most recent Championship game following a 1-1 draw with Leicester.

Ipswich will play a mid-table QPR side, while Millwall’s opponents Oxford have already been relegated. Middlesbrough face the toughest challenge for the Wrexham side as they aim to reach the play-offs.

permutation

If Ipswich win, they will be promoted. If Millwall don’t win and Middlesbrough don’t win by more than five points, a draw will be enough. Millwall and Middlesbrough will be promoted even if they don’t win. If Millwall wins and Ipswich don’t win, they will be promoted. Millwall win, Ipswich lose, and if Millwall don’t win, Middlesbrough will be promoted. Alternatively, if they win by six goals or more, Ipswich draw and Millwall don’t win.

Play-offs: Wrexham, Hull and Derby battle for 6th place

Again, one out of three. Wrexham are on pole position in 6th place, Hull in 7th place and Derby in 8th place.

major games

Derby vs Sheff United Hull vs Norwich Wrexham vs Middlesbrough

All three teams are at home, Derby and Hull are playing mid-table teams and there is nothing to do. Wrexham, meanwhile, will take on a Middlesbrough team who need a win to have a chance of finishing second. Also, if they advance to the playoffs, they will need a win to ensure a draw at home in the second semi-final.

permutation

If Wrexham win, they will advance to the play-offs unless Hull win by one more point. If Hull and Derby don’t win, a draw will suffice. Even if Hull and Derby lose, they will still finish in the top six unless Wrexham’s margin of defeat is greater than Hull’s. If Hull win and Wrexham don’t, or if they win by one goal more than Wrexham’s margin of victory, they will advance to the play-offs. If Wrexham lose and Derby don’t win, a draw will probably suffice. Even if Wrexham lose one more point than Hull and Derby lose, they will still finish in the top six. There are also scenarios where Wrexham and Hull both win and end up with the same result (3-2 and 2-0, 4-2 and 3-0, 4-3 and 3-1, etc.). In this scenario, the match results of both teams will have an impact. Hull will finish top of the table after scoring a double against Wrexham. If Derby wins and Wrexham and Hull fail, there will be a play-off. Even if Wrexham and Hull lose, they still have enough points.

If Bradford avoid defeat, or if Stevenage or Luton fail to win, Stevenage will enter the play-offs. If Stevenage win or Luton fail to improve their result, Luton will enter the play-offs. ———————-Harrogate will be relegated if they lose, but on the condition that Crawley do not lose by more than five points. Even a draw would result in relegation, with Newport and Crawley avoiding defeat and Tranmere not losing by more than four points. Tranmere, Newport and Crawley all go down even if they win. They will only survive if they win and either Tranmere, Newport or Crawley don’t win. If Crawley lose, Newport lose or Tranmere lose by four points or more, the points will be sufficient.
———————-Crawley lose and will be relegated if Harrogate avoid defeat or Barrow win with an eight-point swing. A draw would also be down, with Harrogate winning and Newport and Tranmere avoiding defeat.
———————-If Newport lose and Crawley and Harrogate avoid defeat, relegation will be confirmed. A draw would also mean Down, Tranmere avoiding defeat and Crawley and Harrogate winning.
———————- If Tranmere lose, they will be relegated, Newport and Crawley will avoid defeat, and Harrogate will win (Harrogate will only need a draw if Tranmere lose by four points or more).
