OMAHA, Nebraska — In a cavernous exhibit hall inside CHI Health Center Omaha, the annual Berkshire Bazaar of Bargains is still stocked with fan-favorite sales, but this year there’s a little more room.

20,000 square foot shopping event tied to Berkshire Hathaway‘s annual meeting features the usual lineup. Warren Buffett-themed gear from Brooks Sports, chocolate coins from See’s Candies, and merchandise from dozens of subsidiary companies. However, unlike previous years, the lines were shorter and the audience visibly smaller.

The event comes as 95-year-old Chairman Buffett, who has defined the gathering for decades, is no longer expected to headline the same major Q&A session, ceding the spotlight to Greg Abel, who takes over as CEO in early 2026.

Mr. Abel stopped by every booth in the hall, greeting employees and shaking hands with shareholders. A line of shareholders formed as he made his way down the hall.

Squshmallow, the stuffed toy phenomenon owned by Jazzwear Inc., which Berkshire acquired through its 2022 acquisition of Alleghany Corporation, is drawing crowds again, including a new Abel-themed plush toy.

Jazzwear President Jeremy Padawer told CNBC that Abel was “enthusiastic, interested and involved” and that the CEO helped design his Squishmallow. The company also partnered with other Berkshire brands on special edition versions, including BNSF Railway, NetJets, GEICO and See’s Candies.

See’s Candies, one of Berkshire’s most iconic brands, captured the moment with shelves of themed chocolate treats and cardboard cutouts of Buffett and Abel playing hockey, paying homage to Abel’s Canadian roots and well-known love of the sport.

Brooks Running is also focusing on Berkshire’s fan base, selling a special 2026 edition of its running shoes featuring Berkshire Hathaway branding on the sides and insoles.

Nearly 2,000 shareholders are expected to take part in Brooks’ “Invest in Yourself” 5K fun run and walk on Sunday morning after the annual general meeting, with participants set to take on a new course this year.
