Juventus have identified Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson as their top target this summer.
Sky Sports News understands that the Italian club will devote significant resources and time to signing the Brazilian ahead of next season.
The 33-year-old is set to enter the final year of his contract with Liverpool in July after the club activated his extension option in March.
Alisson, Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper for almost eight years, has missed the last five games with a hamstring injury.
He also missed five Premier League games and six Champions League games earlier this season, being replaced by Giorgi Mamadashvili.
Liverpool are believed to be aware of the situation and are thought to be carrying out appropriate considerations regarding a replacement goalkeeper should Alisson ultimately leave.
Head coach Arne Slott has hinted at the changes needed to the squad this summer, with both full-back positions, centre-backs, defensive midfield and everyone up front being considered.
Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have announced that they will leave the club at the end of their contracts, and Ibrahima Konate is also heading towards the end of his contract.
Analysis: Is now the right time to let Alison go?
Sam Blitz of Sky Sports:
Regardless of what Liverpool do with Alisson this summer, he will go down as one of the best goalkeepers in Premier League history.
The Brazilian has consistently proven his ability to be both a good shot-stopper with a special knack for saving one-on-one situations, as well as the modern skill of being a great ball distributor.
Without him, Liverpool might not have won the two Premier League titles and the Champions League trophy since his arrival.
But is now the right time for Liverpool to let Alisson go, with signs suggesting Liverpool’s No.1 is past his prime?
The data underlying Alisson’s numbers shows he is conceding more goals than he is saving. Looking at expected goals, we see that the Brazilian is conceding 2.54 more goals than he should have allowed, his lowest since the start of the 2020s.
On top of that, his Premier League save percentage figures have fallen below 70 per cent for the first time this season.
However, timing is critical regarding this departure. Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson will also leave Anfield, but if Alisson also leaves, it will be through Arne Slott’s exit in the summer that will give him more experience.
Three key figures from one of Liverpool’s greatest eras could be leaving the club. The club will undergo a complete rebuild this summer.
