Sky Sports will remain the exclusive home of F1 in the UK and Ireland until 2034 after extending its partnership with F1 for a further five years.
As part of the award-winning coverage, all races, qualifying and practice sessions will continue to be broadcast live exclusively on Sky Sports F1 and available to stream on NOW, while live home races and highlights from each Grand Prix will be shared on free-to-air.
The deal, which also includes live coverage of F2, F3, F1 Academy and Porsche Supercup, comes after Britain’s Lando Norris won the 2025 Drivers’ Championship for McLaren in the most-watched F1 season in Sky Sports history.
Sky has also agreed a five-year extension to its contract with Sky Italia, which will see it remain the home of F1 in Italy until 2032. F1 is currently in full swing in Italy, with 19-year-old Italian Kimi Antonelli winning three races in a row and taking an early lead in the 2026 Drivers’ Championship.
F1 President Stefano Domenicali said: “Sky has always been a committed, reliable and passionate partner since we began our relationship many years ago.
“Their world-leading approach to live broadcasts, content production and behind-the-scenes analysis led by a truly incredible group of on-screen talent has made a difference in continuing to grow our sport in the UK, Ireland and Italy. We are delighted to be able to continue our partnership into the next decade.”
Since the UK and Ireland became the home of F1 in 2019, Sky has played a central role in the growth of the sport in these markets.
Total viewership increased by 90%, viewership under 35 increased by 120%, and female viewership more than doubled. Over the past three seasons (2023-2025) alone, viewership has increased by 14%, with the 2025 season reaching a record 162 million viewers.
“We are proud of the role we have played in supporting the growth of sport through world-class storytelling, innovation and long-term investment,” said Sky Group CEO Dana Strong.
“This new deal secures Sky as the home of F1 for many years to come. The sport is entering an exciting era with more British players on the grid and rising stars like Kimi Antonelli. I would like to thank Stefano and the F1 team for their continued partnership and I am excited to build on this relationship over the coming years.”
Sky’s F1 coverage will continue to be shared with international broadcast partners, reaching fans in more than 100 markets around the world.
Viewers will continue to enjoy insight and analysis from Sky’s expert line-up, featuring former world champions alongside world-class commentary and popular segments, from Martin Brundle’s grid walk to Ted’s Notebook to Bernie Collins’ expert analysis from the pit wall.
Sky’s coverage continues to push the boundaries of the sport with award-winning analysis from SkyPad and innovation in the form of the Ghost Car feature, which allows viewers to see in incredible detail how key battles unfold across the grid.
With the introduction of onboard cameras and access to enhanced real-time data, fans can now get even closer to the action and experience it from inside the car of their favorite driver.
The partnership with F1 adds more top quality sport to Sky’s market-leading portfolio in the UK and Ireland than anywhere else, and secures most of Sky’s sporting rights until near the end of the decade.
This includes 1,500 matches from the Premier League, Women’s Super League, EFL and SPFL. We have year-round coverage of both tennis and darts, every shot of the golf majors, home men’s and women’s England international cricket, as well as NFL, Netball Super League and Rugby League action.
F1 then heads to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix and Sprint Weekend. Watch Sky Sports F1 live from 22nd to 24th May. Stream Sky Sports now – cancel anytime with no contract
