Tyson Fury has mocked Anthony Joshua after his knockout loss at the hands of Daniel Dubois.
Dubois bombarded Fabio Wardley with a barrage of brutal power punches in the 11th round of their WBO heavyweight title fight in Manchester on Saturday, but the Ipswich man was ultimately overwhelmed and stopped in his tracks.
The fight drew praise for its drama, Wardley’s tenacity and resilience, and Dubois’ fierce attack.
But Fury, a former two-time world champion who already holds every major belt in his division, had a different interpretation.
“Just sitting here thinking after Dubois’ incredible fight last night,” Fury said on social media.
“Dubois fought ‘Big Baby’ Miller, stopped him but never took him down. Then he fought (Filip) Hrgovic, stopped him but never took him down. Last night, he He had an unbelievable fight with Dolly and stopped him but never took him down. He hit some big bombs on (Olexandr) Usyk but never took him down,” Fury said.
“Yet he fought Anthony Joshua, punched him, pushed him to the floor (four times). I’m not saying Anthony Joshua has no chin, but the facts are. Take it as you wish, take it as you wish.”
“No one else went over. We didn’t have any unique guys like ‘Big Baby’ Miller, Hrgovic, Usyk, Wardley, but Joshua went down (four times)… Chinny!”
Fury is scheduled to fight Joshua this November, but the date and venue are yet to be confirmed. Fury could also box in another warm-up bout before then.
In a post on his Instagram account, Fury promised that news of the fight was coming soon, saying: “I have some incredibly exciting news coming in about getting in the ring, so stay tuned.”
