Britain’s Prince George will attend elite British school Eton College, following in the footsteps of his father Prince William, the Prince of Wales and a long list of former British prime ministers.

Kensington Palace confirmed in a statement to CNN on Tuesday that Prince George will be attending Eton College from September.

Eton College is located in the county of Berkshire, England, and educates boys aged 13 to 18, with approximately 270 students per year.

The school is one of the UK’s most prestigious fee-paying schools, with a distinguished alumni list including celebrities and 20 of the UK’s 58 prime ministers.

These include former Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who led Britain from 2019 to 2022, and former Prime Minister David Cameron, who led Britain from 2010 to 2016.

Other famous Old Etonians include actors Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston.

Eton School, located in Windsor, just west of London, currently has tuition fees of £63,298.80 (approximately $84,900) for the 2025/26 academic year.

Boarding is the only option for students, meaning they study and sleep on school grounds.

This means 12-year-old George will live just 5.5 miles from his parents’ Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

George is the eldest of three Welsh children and second in line to the British throne. He will turn 13 in July and will start Eton College in September.

His father, Prince William, has attended the school since 1995, and his uncle, Prince Harry, has attended the school since 1998.
