Britain’s Prince Harry and his family will return to the UK for a visit next month, British media reported on Wednesday.
According to the BBC, Telegraph and ITV News, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be accompanied by their two children Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, on their first family visit to the UK in four years.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, who live in California, left the UK for North America in 2020 after stepping back from royal life, but have since had a long-running rift with their family in public.
In television interviews and memoirs, the Sussexes cited a toxic cocktail of tabloid intrusion, deep racism within the British system, online abuse and complicated family relationships as reasons for leaving Britain, alongside a desire for financial independence.
In the years since then, Prince Harry, 41, has made several short trips back to the UK, most famously to attend Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022 and the coronation of his father Charles III in 2023.
Prince Harry returned to the UK in September last year, reuniting with his father for the first time in 19 months. He last visited the country in January, when he and others appeared in court as part of a lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mail for allegedly illegally gathering information.
Prince Harry has previously shared his desire to reconcile with his family, and the meeting fueled speculation that rifts within the royal family were easing.
It is not yet known whether the king will meet his grandchildren during his reported visit next month. The pair last met in person in 2022 when the Sussexes returned to the UK for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Their visit coincides with events marking the first anniversary of the start of the Invictus Games, the biennial sporting competition Harry founded more than a decade ago.
