A transcript of Bill Gates’ testimony before a House committee about his relationship with notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was released by the committee on Tuesday.

Co-founder Gates said: microsoftIn testimony on June 10, he expressed regret about his contact with Epstein, saying it was to obtain funding for his philanthropic venture, the Gates Foundation.

Gates told members of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that he “should never have met with Epstein in the first place,” according to the memo.

Gates said he never saw Epstein involved in any criminal activity. Prosecutors said the late wealth manager sexually abused numerous underage girls and young women.

The House committee on Tuesday also released a transcript of June 9 testimony by Leslie Groff, Epstein’s former chief of staff.

Groff testified that she never saw Epstein engage in any illegal activity, and that she regularly scheduled massages with Epstein that she believed were legitimate.

“In retrospect, Mr. Epstein was a master deceiver and master at separating his legitimate life from his secret life as an abuser,” Groff said.

“For 18 years I worked for Dr. Jekyll, but I was never allowed to see the real Mr. Hyde,” she said.
