Leon Black, former CEO of Apollo Global Management, said in prepared testimony before a House committee on Friday that notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein defrauded the company out of more than $60 million in financial management fees.

Black also said in a prepared opening statement shared with CNBC that he was misled by Epstein’s Jekyll and Hyde personality.

Mr. Black is scheduled to be questioned late Friday morning by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which is investigating Mr. Epstein’s relationships with a number of wealthy and influential people.

“I came here voluntarily today to set the record straight about my relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and specifically why I paid him,” Black said in a prepared statement.
