American Airlines introduces grab-and-go lounge at New York’s JFK Airport

american airlines plans to open a new to-go lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport by the end of this year, the first new facility at the airport in more than four years. The company continues to fight for customers who pay higher prices to close the profit gap with the US. delta airlines and united airlines.

The new 3,700-square-foot lounge features a barista bar where travelers can enjoy hot and iced coffee drinks, as well as hot and cold food options.

Airlines have added more of these short-term lounges in recent years to give credit card holders and big spenders access to space without crowding large airport clubs. united The first deployment was announced for Denver International Airport in late 2022.

Airlines and credit card companies alike are raising entry requirements and cutting back on guest passes and other giveaways to avoid overcrowding.

Last year, American Airlines opened its first grab-and-go lounge, called Provisions, at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina.

American Airlines operates from Terminal 8 at JFK, which it shares with Oneworld Alliance partner Japan Airlines. alaska airlinesBritish Airways, etc.

The airline has three luxury lounges for business class travelers, first class passengers and other elite frequent flyers on long-haul travel, which the airline opened there in 2022. It also operates the Admiral’s Club, which serves lounge membership customers. American Airlines hasn’t recently updated its New York space like it has in other cities like Chicago and Austin, Texas.
