Cryptocurrency trading platforms are expected to see trading volumes decline for the third consecutive quarter, with speculators also confident that total trading volume will fall below $200 billion for the first time since Q3 2024.

Traders say there is a 41% chance that trading volume will exceed $160 billion, and only a 25% chance that it will exceed $170 billion. That compares with analysts’ consensus estimate of $168.5 billion, according to FactSet.

Speculators say there is a 99% chance that volume will exceed $150 billion.

Coinbase is scheduled to release its second quarter earnings report on July 30th.

Kalshi’s contract asks traders whether Coinbase trading volume exceeds various levels, and the results are resolved using information from investment research platform Fiscal.ai.

Since Bitcoin price (down just under 50%) peaked in October 2025, Coinbase stock has fallen over 55%. Coinbase’s historical declines in trading volume in Q1 2026 and Q4 2025 were also due to the decline in Bitcoin prices during those periods.
