Let’s check out the companies that are becoming a hot topic for after-hours trading. Alphabet — Shares fell more than 4% after the company cited demand for artificial intelligence and raised its 2026 capital spending forecast to a range of $195 billion to $205 billion. Separately, Alphabet posted revenue of $119.8 billion in the second quarter, beating expectations of $116.93 billion, according to LSEG. Management attributed the performance to slower growth in Parts Rollins’ residential pest control business. Former CEO Paul Hennessy resigned effective July 13, two weeks after Getty Images pulled out of the Shutterstock deal. ServiceNow — The enterprise software company’s stock rose more than 2%. ServiceNow had second-quarter revenue of $3.99 billion and adjusted earnings of 90 cents per share, beating analyst expectations. By comparison, LSEG’s consensus is 85 cents per share on revenue of $3.93 billion. The company also raised its full-year subscription revenue outlook. Las Vegas Sands — The casino operator suffered a 6% loss due to sales and earnings failures in its latest quarter. SL Green was up 16% in the past three months leading up to the earnings release, nearly triple the S&P 500’s gain. The stock fell more than 4% in the last after-hours session. QuantumScape – The battery maker’s stock fell 3% after the company posted a loss of 16 cents per share in its latest quarter, narrower than the 18 cents per share loss that analysts had expected, according to FactSet. IBM — IBM stock rose about 2% despite reporting quarterly results that fell short of consensus estimates. The technology vendor issued an earnings warning last week. Adjusted earnings were $2.93 per share, 4 cents per share below consensus estimates, LSEG said. Revenue was $17.16 billion, slightly below expectations of $17.58 billion.
