What is 1 trillion between a millionaire and his biggest fan?

space x Since June’s high of $225.64, its market capitalization has now disappeared by more than $1.2 trillion, about the same as the value of Elon Musk’s other company. tesla‘s stock price has fallen to near its lowest level in just over a year. On Monday, SpaceX fell in 13 of the past 16 sessions, dropping more than 1% to end at $113.50.

SpaceX in the last 5 business days

While some of the options flow is becoming more balanced between bulls and bears, SpaceX’s largest single trade of the day on Monday was neutral to bullish. Small speculators continue to buy big opportunity calls that require a falling stock to quickly reverse and double.

More puts were traded than calls on a volume basis on Monday, with traders buying 106,000 calls compared to 77,000 puts, with the bulk of the $442 million premium tied to puts. The most popular contract by volume is the 330-strike call expiring on Friday, which has an approximately 1/3 1% chance of closing at 10 cents, according to ThinkOrSwim data.

Four of the five largest trades by premium were neutral or bullish, according to Cboe LiveVol data. These included two huge put spread sellers who sold 5,200 of 100-strike puts expiring on October 16th and bought 7,000 of 85-strike puts with the same expiration date, raising $1.8 million, including selling millions of dollars in in-the-money put spreads needed for SpaceX’s recovery.

“As an investor, it’s too early, but as a trader, Wall Street is putting capital spending on AI stocks,” said Charles Moon, technology and momentum specialist at Prosper Trading Academy in Chicago.

One thing is for sure: SpaceX is offering traders one of the wildest rides on the market. Earnings are typically events that reduce volatility, but that may not necessarily be the case after next week’s report.

SpaceX’s first earnings report since its initial public offering paves the way for investors to sell up to 911.5 million shares, or 20% of their eligible lockup shares, on August 6, the second full day following the first earnings release date.

President Moon said, “I don’t think SpaceX’s closure will be as bad as everyone feared.” “But it doesn’t solve the cause either.”
