Lamborghini Revuelto SV Hybrid: the most powerful production car ever

Lamborghini on Friday launched the Revuelto SV, a limited edition hybrid version of the V12 Revuelto. This is the fastest and most powerful car ever produced at the company’s factory.

The model is the latest addition to Lamborghini’s storied SV line, which began with the Miura SV 55 years ago and has unveiled lighter, more aerodynamic and more powerful versions of its flagship supercar. The new hybrid supercar receives an electric boost to further enhance the “adrenaline and emotion” when driving a Lambo, the car’s product director told CNBC.

“Revuelto SV offers our customers the opportunity to further improve their performance,” said Alessandro Farmeschi, Product Line Director at Revuelto. “We wanted to offer them something more race-oriented, but at the same time give them the adrenaline of really having fun and driving a Lamborghini.”

The Italian carmaker will only produce 1,963 units of the Revuelto SV. Pricing for the supercar starts at $741,172.

The Revuelto SV aims to combine cutting-edge technology with the luxury and speed that sports car enthusiasts seek. Powered by Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated V12 engine, three electric motors are added to increase output to more than 1,050 horsepower, accelerating from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.4 seconds.

“When our customers choose Lamborghini, they choose us because of the design and the technology applied,” Farmeschi said. “So you need the substance. You need to work on the technical part of the car. And the engine sound is very important. The V12 has been key from the beginning, since the founding of the company.”

In addition to increased power, the Revuelto SV features new aerodynamics with sharper, bolder fins, wings and air intakes to better direct air and add downforce. It also features a specially tuned suspension, a new carbon ceramic brake disc system, and a new Pilota Mode driving setting that allows for a highly customized driving setup for the race track.

The interior has also been refitted to feel like the cockpit of a race car or fighter jet. Comes with special sports seats with carbon shell construction or optional monocoque carbon fiber race seats. These may be less comfortable, but offer a more authentic motorsport experience.

Most of Lamborghini’s limited edition models are sold out by the time they are announced. SV versions of Lambos also tend to command higher prices and higher demand in the collector market.

“When you buy a Lamborghini, you buy a Lamborghini not just because you want it, because you like it, because you want the experience of driving it, but because it’s a car that will keep up with the times and maintain its value,” Farmesi said.
