Britain’s Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have announced the name of their third child, Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank.
The couple made the announcement in an Instagram post on Monday.
“Two weeks ago today, we welcomed our daughter into the world. Since then, we have had the most special, cozy and loving time together,” the post reads.
“She was named after three people we love and respect, past and present, including her great-grandmother, who we hold dear in our hearts.” “Her name is part of the history of England and Portugal, two places we love and call home.”
Adelaide will be the couple’s third child, joining brothers August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, who was born in February 2021, and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, who was born in May 2023.
“Augie and Ernie are already the best big brothers,” Monday’s post added.
According to a post on the royal family’s official account X on August 4, Adelaide was born on August 3 at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, weighing 6 pounds, 9 ounces.
“The King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family were delighted to hear this news,” the post said.
Eugenie and Brooksbank wed at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in October 2018, just months after the princess’ cousin Harry, Duke of Sussex, married Meghan Markle.
Eugenie, 12th in line to the British throne, is the second daughter of Charles III’s disgraced brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The baby will be his fifth grandchild with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
The king is the newborn baby’s great uncle.
