Unitree Robotics shares closed more than 460% higher on Wednesday as the Chinese humanoid robot maker made its stock market debut in Shanghai.

The stock price rose nearly 630% to close at 845 yuan.

The Hangzhou-based robot maker, whose backflip and dance machines have attracted global attention, raised about 6.1 billion yuan ($905 million) in its IPO, according to its prospectus.

The IPO also received backing from Chinese AI company DeepSeek, which invested about 140.8 million yuan, according to the company’s filing. Unitree’s existing investors include Chinese technology giant Tencent.

Unitree’s product lineup ranges from bipedal humanoid robots that can walk and manipulate objects with their dexterous hands to quadrupedal robots used for danger detection.

Ahead of its listing, Unitree on Monday unveiled a new humanoid robot called “Superman.” The robot can jump 2 meters from a standing position and run at speeds of up to 12.66 meters per second.

Unitree is the latest high-profile Chinese tech company to enter Shanghai’s STAR market, following the listing of memory chip maker CXMT last month, with its shares soaring 466% on its first day of trading.

In June, Morgan Stanley raised its forecast for shipments of humanoid robots in China this year to 50,000 units, nearly double the previous estimate of 28,000 units. The bank estimates China’s humanoid robot market will grow from $2 billion this year to $15 billion by 2030.

The bank also expects pilot projects in China to begin moving into widespread deployment in the second half of this year, with life-sized humanoid robots accounting for around 30% of shipments, rising to 70% by 2028.
