Private Credit and Bond Markets Several large private equity stocks have fallen over the past few days. Ares Management fell 2.6% in four days. KKR fell 6.1% in four days. Blue Owl Capital fell 6.7% in four days. Apollo Global fell 7.6% in four days. On Friday, CNBC senior finance and banking correspondent Leslie Picker looks at what the recent turmoil in the bond market means for this group of stocks going forward. KKR 5D Mountain KKR Shipping Market and Countdown to Christmas Over the Past 5 Business Days CNBC TV’s Pippa Stephens reports on the shipping market and its impact on the major ocean shipping stocks. AP Mueller is up 21% so far in August. This week it hit a new high. Frontline rose 10.6% in August. This week it also hit a new high. The SonicShares Global Shipping ETF (BOAT) rose nearly 10% in August. The stock hit new highs this week. Diana Shipping rose 9% in August. The stock is up 9% from its May high. Hapag-Lloyd and ZIM both rose about 8% in August. Both stocks are about 10% off their highs. There are 99 days left until the day after Thanksgiving, when shopping season officially begins. 127 days until Christmas…cue Mariah Carey. Micron’s “Mad Money” and Jim Cramer of Boise, Idaho, traveled west for a big show at Micron’s Boise headquarters and factory as Micron introduced the Micron Research Institute. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra told Kramer the institute “will advance America’s leadership in semiconductor and memory technology.” If you missed it, it’s worth watching. You can find it online at CNBC.com under the Video tab. The stock rose about 4% as Mr. Kramer spent the day with Mr. Mehrotra in Boise. One of the quotes of the day that Cramer got from Mehrotra was, “Memory is no longer a component of a system. Memory is a strategic infrastructure for AI.” He went on to say, “Without memory, you can’t make AI smarter, you can’t make AI faster, you can’t scale AI.” Micron currently accounts for 26% of the popular Round Hill Memory ETF (DRAM). The ETF has more than doubled since its inception on April 2nd.
