The Los Angeles Lakers’ record sales are being felt far beyond Hollywood.

Mark Walter’s pending $12.5 billion sale to Joshua Kushner and Bob Iger will have a major impact on the valuations of every NBA team.

If the sale is approved, the average value of an NBA team would increase 21% to $6.68 billion, according to CNBC’s proprietary team transaction database.

In October, Walter purchased a controlling interest in the Lakers at a valuation of $10 billion. The $12.5 billion deal is worth an estimated 20 times the team’s 2025-26 season revenue, making it the highest multiple for control of an NBA team in history.

CNBC adjusted the NBA valuations of all 30 teams published in February based on the Lakers’ $12.5 billion contract.

The Golden State Warriors will remain the most valuable team, but their value will increase from $10.8 billion in February to $13 billion. The two teams that have increased the most in value since February are the reigning NBA champion New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls, each up 26%.

In addition to historical sales prices and corresponding earnings multiples, other factors CNBC considers in its evaluation include arena economics, market size, and investor interest.

Here are the current values of each of the NBA’s 30 teams: Revenue and EBITDA are for the 2024-2025 season, which was first published in February.
