In an extraordinary statement Tuesday morning, TWG Global, led by Mark Walter, condemned the so-called “multi-pronged attack” on the holding company and its subsidiaries and said “despite what has been reported, there has been no wrongdoing at these companies.”
The statement comes amid a flurry of media reports about federal criminal and civil investigations into Walter’s empire and the accounting of related-party financial transactions by two of his insurance companies.
“TWG and Group 1001 Insurance Companies have presented a plan that addresses any regulatory concerns,” TWG Global said in a statement.
“Over the past few weeks, a multi-pronged attack on TWG has been carried out by anonymous sources with self-serving interests and reported in the media. It is important to set the record straight,” the statement said.
“TWG remains focused on safeguarding the integrity of its business and continuing to deliver value to its stakeholders.”
