Apple sets iPhone release date, first under new CEO John Ternus

apple announced Wednesday that it will hold a launch event on September 9th at its headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Invitations sent to media include the tagline “Surprise and Shine” and a glowing Apple logo. The event begins at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

Analysts expect the company to unveil new iPhones and Apple Watches at the event, including its first foldable phone. Apple this week announced new Mac Mini and Mac Studio models that will ship on September 22nd.

A new version of Siri called Siri AI will also be released. It uses the latest large-scale language modeling techniques to enable your assistant to use apps like Messaging and Calendar.

The announcement marks Apple’s first time with CEO John Ternas at the helm. Tim Cook, Apple’s current CEO, will step down and become the company’s executive chairman on September 1.
