Critics argue that the regime’s arcade games prioritize entertainment over pressing issues such as rising costs and foreign conflicts.

The White House’s release of five arcade-style games on its website, each seen as promoting a different set of President Donald Trump’s policies, has sparked a backlash, with critics accusing the administration of prioritizing entertainment over addressing the rising cost of living and the ongoing war with Iran.

The games announced Thursday include “Build the Wall,” where players run to catch little green figures before they reach the border wall. “Rio Run” is a snake-style game where players collect border crossers along a fence. In “Supply Line”, players reject food that does not meet “Make America Healthy Again” standards. “Flappy Bill” is a Flappy Bird style game where a bald eagle carries bills around the National Mall. and “Trump Savings Tycoon,” where players catch flying cash and gold bars to “fill up their child’s Trump account,” a nod to the government’s child savings program.

“While heating oil prices are near all-time highs, you can still play Border Emperor Tom Homan in a video game,” Sen. Matt Lesser wrote in X.

Rights groups have also criticized the administration regarding gaming websites.

“It’s sickening. They’ve been playing a game with people’s lives for years and now they’re making a video game out of what they’re doing,” America Garcia Grewal, co-director of the Frontera Federation in Eagle Pass, Texas, told AFP.

Game designers have “lost sight of what it means to be human and to care about others.”

Adriana Jasso, program coordinator for AMIGOS San Diego Community, which works at the border, said the arcade-style games show a fundamental “lack of seriousness” on the part of the government.

“The brutality and extremism of the regime is no longer surprising,” she said.

President Trump has faced growing criticism in recent months over the economic fallout from his war with Iran and his broader domestic policies.

The conflict has closed the Strait of Hormuz for nearly six months, disrupted global oil, natural gas and fertilizer supplies, and pushed U.S. inflation above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target, Texas Public Radio reported.

Trump has also faced criticism over tariff policies that were partially struck down by the Supreme Court earlier this year, cuts to food assistance programs and the expiration of Affordable Care Act tax credits, all of which economists say are exacerbating the strain on household budgets.

Meanwhile, the White House seemed unfazed, posting “CAN’T STOP WINNING” on X with a link to the game.
