Here are some companies that are making headlines in intraday trading. HP — The computer maker’s stock fell more than 3% after HP did not provide details on its fiscal year outlook. HP said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it is within its fiscal 2027 planning period. The company also stated its tentative assumption that industry-wide personal computer sales will decline by mid-single digits at a calendar year 2027 rate compared to 2026. Artificial Intelligence Stocks – Stocks of companies involved in building AI soared early in the week. The iShares AI Innovation and Tech Active ETF (BAI) rose more than 3%. Intel stock rose 13%, while Lam Research and Lumentum stocks each rose more than 3%. Advanced Micro Devices — The chip maker’s stock soared 9% to an all-time high as investors snapped up shares in the tech company. AMD is aiming for its fifth consecutive win, and its market capitalization has surpassed $1 trillion for the first time. SIENA — Networking stocks outperformed up 4% following Evercore ISI upgrade and are on track to rise nearly 58% from Friday’s close. “We see CIEN as an attractive way to tap into the optical networking space, which is rapidly emerging as a key bottleneck in building AI,” said analyst Amit Daryanani. Semiconductor stocks — Semiconductor stocks rose as tech stocks rebounded. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF (SMH) rose more than 3%. Arm Holdings stock rose 16%, Micron Technology stock rose 2%, and lastly Nvidia stock rose 1%. Energy Stocks — Oil stocks fell at the beginning of the week due to declines in commodity prices. West Texas Intermediate futures for October delivery fell more than 5%, their worst day in more than a month. The State Street Energy Select Sector SPDRETF (XLE) fell 2% as shares of ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil and Occidental Petroleum each fell about 3%. Critical Metals — The rare earth company’s stock price soared nearly 40%. President Donald Trump announced late last week that the United States would establish a “significant military presence” in Greenland as part of a security agreement with Denmark. U.S. stocks tied to the Arctic rose on Monday. Greenland Mines’ stock price soared more than 200%, and Greenland Energy’s stock price rose 140%. Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery — Shares of both companies rose nearly 10% over the weekend after the Wall Street Journal reported that Paramount and California Attorney General Rob Bonta had discussed details of a settlement over a lawsuit blocking the merger of the two media giants. Accenture — Shares soared more than 3% after the professional services firm announced Friday it would partner with Anthropic to evaluate the AI company’s models. Anthropic’s announcement said the two companies will invest at least $1 billion to “build capacity in this area.” The announcement comes after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei pushed for a slowdown in AI development. Novo — Shares fell 8% as investors were unimpressed with the company’s long-term goals for competing with the weight-loss market. The Denmark-based company plans to launch at least five medicines by 2030 and generate more than DKK 150 billion (US$23 billion) in risk-adjusted pipeline sales by 2035. Coinbase — Shares of the cryptocurrency exchange rose more than 4% following Bitcoin’s rally earlier in the week. The digital currency rose to a high of $86,349.90. Monday’s move follows a recent surge in stock prices. Coinbase stock soared more than 10% last week after regulators cleared the way for the company to tokenize its stock. Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy’s stock ended the day up 8%, while cryptocurrency mining company Riot Platforms’ stock rose 3%. AHAUS — The home furnishings brand’s stock rose nearly 12% after Jefferies upgraded the company from hold to buy. Analyst Jonathan Matuszewski said there was “new optimism” about the company’s strategy to increase brand awareness. CNBC’s Nick Wells and Gina Francola contributed reporting. Correction: A previous version incorrectly identified the name of a rare earths company that is booming after the U.S.-Denmark agreement on Greenland. That company is Critical Metals.
