Indiana Fever basketball star Caitlin Clark’s first signature sneaker, Nike’s Caitlin 1, is nearly sold out in less than two hours after its highly anticipated U.S. release.

Nike releases the Caitlin 1 at 10 a.m. ET on Nike.com. After about an hour, all that remained were extra-large sizes of size 15 and above. It’s unclear how much stock Nike has in stock.

The sneakers are also nearly sold out at retailers such as Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Hibbett.

The Caitlin 1 is already listed for more than $200 on resale sites like eBay.

During Nike’s earnings call Thursday, CEO Elliott Hill highlighted the growth of its women’s basketball business as Nike works to reconnect with consumers. Nike’s stock price has fallen more than 50% in the past 12 months. The company has seen sales decline over the past year due to concerns over product innovation, increased competition and challenges in China. Hill said Nike’s women’s signage business has grown nearly 500% over the past four years.

“One of our strongest growth opportunities is in the women’s game,” Hill said.

Hill also said the Caitlin 1 launch was the brand’s biggest women’s signature shoe launch in history, with the new sneakers now available in 5,000 stores. He said this is “twice the average for Nike’s basketball signature shoes, backed by our largest Nike product campaign for the holiday season.”

The shoe’s release comes as Clark and the Indiana Fever prepare for Game 3 of the do-or-die playoffs against the Aces in Las Vegas on Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET.

The shoes retail for $140 and are also available in adult sizes. Kids sizes are listed as “coming soon.”

The shoes are available in two colors: “Caitlin Blue” and bright yellow.

“A lot of thought and time went into this shoe,” Clark said in a press release when Nike announced the shoe. “I never thought I’d have my own signature shoe, and now it’s something very special.”

Nike first signed Clark in 2022, when he was still a player at the University of Iowa. She reportedly signed an eight-year, $28 million contract in April 2024.
