The record-breaking S&P 500 closed at a new high Tuesday. The stock is up 23% from its March 30 low and 14% year-to-date. The NASDAQ 100 and NASDAQ Composite hit new highs. Both are up about 35% from their March 30th lows. The Nasdaq 100 index is up 23% this year, and the composite index is up almost 19% in 2026. Here’s Jim Cramer’s take on Tuesday night’s “Mad Money.” “People may be too passive and too critical of stocks that have room to grow,” he said. He also argued that “instead of asking what can go wrong, ask what can go right.” As he said, the market is divided into “winners like AI and others.” You can tell by the difference between a large index and the same weight. Equal-weighted ETFs are underperforming the index, as highlighted in this note from Monday night. As the S&P 500 hits new highs, the Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) is down 5% from its high. The First Trust Nasdaq 100 Select Equal Weight ETF (QQEW) is near its highs, but it has not reached its highs since August 13th. .SPX YTD Mountain S&P 500, 2026 Closing Price Index The New York Stock Exchange Composite Index is down 3.8% from its high. It’s up 14% from November’s lows and 8.7% year-to-date. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 6% from its high. It’s up 14% from the low and 7% in 2026. The Russell 2000 is down 8% from its mid-August high. The index is up 23% from its November low and 14% year-to-date. Sector Check Tech was the only S&P sector to record highs on Tuesday. The stock is up 51% from its March 30th low and about 32% year-to-date. Energy is down 3% from its high, and healthcare is down 4.7%. Fed minutes at 2pm ET CNBC senior economics correspondent Steve Reisman will have a breakdown of the Fed minutes from its September policy meeting. The Fidelity Corporate Bond ETF (FCOR) has a dividend yield of 4.87% as of Tuesday night. iShares 0-5 Year High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (SHYG) has a dividend yield of 7.14%. The State Street SPDR Bloomberg High Yield Bond ETF (JNK) has a yield of 6.82% and the iShares iBoxx High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) has a yield of 6.08%. US10Y YTD Mountain 2026 U.S. 10-Year Treasury Yield Rates and Private Equity CNBC TV and “Morning Call” anchor Morgan Brennan was considering these names Tuesday, and there will likely be more to come. Apollo is down 25% from its high and 13% in one month. Ares is down 35% from its high. It fell 16% in one month. KKR has fallen 37% from its high and is down almost 16% in one month. Blue Owl is down 47% from its high. It has fallen about 23% in one month. The Microsoft software giant will hold a major artificial intelligence event Wednesday focused on the future of personal computers. CNBC’s Kate Rooney and Jordan Nobe will be watching and waiting to report. Microsoft is up 4.4% from its 52-week high recorded on October 28, 2025. The stock is up 2.3% in two days and about 37% in three months. MSFT 3M Mountain Microsoft in the Past 3 Months Not So Happy at Home Michael Rehaut, a longtime housing analyst at JPMorgan, recently joined Melius Research, where he was in charge of reporting. He believes there are many challenges for housing stocks, including rising mortgage rates, a large number of existing homes on the market, record low affordability, and consumer concerns about jobs and declining consumer confidence. He believes there will be problems with primary housing stock deep into 2027. Pulte has fallen 19% from its high. DR Horton and Hovnanian are down 22% from their highs. KB Home is down 33% from its high. Lennar is down 42% from its high.
