Share prices of social media stocks that are in trouble, although it cannot be said that they have recovered yet. Snap Co., Ltd. It’s up almost 20% this month, and options traders are betting the stock will rise significantly.

Snap stock has traded below $10 since July 2025, after almost completely collapsing from a 2021 high of over $80 to an April low of $3.81. But now, with excitement swirling around social media giant Metaplatforms’ AI agent, traders rushed into snap call options on Monday, sending trading volume more than four times the monthly average, data from Cboe LiveVol shows.

About 140,000 options were traded on Snap on Monday, including about 64,000 call trades likely initiated by buyers, compared to fewer than 7,000 puts. Traders sold more than 12,000 puts and 34,000 calls. Net directional bias based on net trading sentiment and option delta was positive, Barchart said.

According to SpotGamma data, nine of the top 10 trades by volume were calls, and of the $5.5 million in premium exchanged, $5 million was tied to calls.

The most bought call was the 8-strike call expiring December 18th, with 26,000 trades. The deal costs about 37 cents and requires Snap to recoup 30% and pay it off by the end of the contract. If that happens, it would be the highest trading volume for the stock since February.

The owner of photo-sharing and messaging app Snapchat is also offering augmented reality “Specs” glasses. Last week, shareholder Blue Duck Capital issued an open letter to Snap’s board of directors urging the company to raise dedicated capital to support the product, saying the stock could rise to between $12 and $14.
