U.S. Treasury yields fell on Friday as investors weighed a flurry of economic data and the Federal Reserve’s latest interest rate decisions.

The 10-year Treasury note, which is used as a proxy for mortgages, auto loans and credit card debt, fell more than 4 basis points to 4.941%. It’s been around for a long time 30 year treasury It fell more than 1 basis point to 5.315%. of 2 years treasuryThe index that tracks short-term Federal Reserve interest rate decisions fell 6 basis points to 4.596%.

Investors are still digesting the week’s big events, with Thursday’s Consumer Expenditure Price Index up 0.5% from a month ago and 3.6% from a year ago, above the Fed’s 2% target.

This was announced a day after the central bank decided to keep its key interest rate unchanged at a range of 3.75% to 4% in a widely expected move.

Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh told reporters after the meeting that policymakers were not moving in one direction on monetary policy.

“If we reach a firm conclusion on monetary policy, we will make a big announcement today,” he said.

Investors will be keeping an eye on several key employment numbers next week, including October non-farm payrolls to be released on Friday and September JOLTS jobs numbers to be released on Tuesday.
