Beau Greaves will take on former champion Michael van Gerwen on the opening day of Grand Slam of Darts 2025 on Saturday 8 November, live on Sky Sports.

Greaves is part of the smash-hit Group G, which also includes Gary Anderson and Nico Springer, and her tantalizing match in the group stage between her and the Green Machine will see them compete for the headline spot in Saturday’s opening match, which will be played in a double session.

Reigning champion Luke Littler is in Group E and needs to move past Darryl Gurney, Connor Scutt and Karel Sedlacek to become only the fourth player in history to retain the title. He will face Sedlacek on opening day.

2023 champion, number one seed and world number one Luke Humphries is in Group A, which also includes Nathan Aspinall, Alex Spellman and 2022 champion Michael Smith, after ‘Bully Boy’ qualified and qualified.

Smith hopes to get off to a strong start Saturday against Aspinall.

Michael Smith was overcome with emotion on stage after winning the Grand Slam of Darts, his first major tournament in his ninth attempt.

Meanwhile, Group D is also attracting attention with a battle between fifth seeds James Wade, Gerwyn Price, Ricky Evans and Stephen Belmont.

The second female representative, Lisa Ashton, also has the task of competing in Group F with three in-form players: Jan van Veen, Josh Locke and Wessel Nijman. Her first match will be against Dutchman Van Veen. He will go from strength to strength following his European Championship victory.

Martin Lukeman celebrates fight against Luke Littler

Martin Lukeman won the leg and received applause from Luke Littler in the Grand Slam of Darts final after losing 15 in a row.

Group B includes Chris Dobey, Damon Heta, Jurjen van der Velde and 2024 finalist Martin Lukeman, while Group C will feature Stephen Bunting, Martin Schindler, Luke Woodhouse and Alexis Toiro.

Finally, in Group H, No. 6 seed Johnny Clayton will face Danny Knoppert, Lucas Wennig and Cam Crabtree.

Players are divided into eight groups, with the top two from each group advancing.

In the group stage, players earn two points for winning nine-game first contests. The second round will be played over 19-game legs, while the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played over 31-game legs.

The second round onwards will be held in a knockout format with the following combinations:

Winner group A vs. runner-up group B Winner group B vs. runner-up group AW Group C vs. runner-up group D Winner group D vs. runner-up group CW Winner group E vs. runner-up group FW Group F vs. runner-up group EW Group G vs. runner-up group H Winner group H vs. runner-up group G

As the major season heats up, the Grand Slam of Darts will be broadcast live every day on Sky Sports from November 8th to 16th.
