Google’s AI mode now has new agent features to help you book event tickets and beauty appointments

Google announced Tuesday that it is launching new agent features in AI mode. This feature allows users to dig deeper into topics with complex questions and follow-ups directly within search.

Users can now receive assistance with event ticket bookings and beauty and wellness bookings in AI mode.

For example, you could ask, “Please find me two cheap tickets to the upcoming Shabuzi concert. I would prefer standing floor tickets.” AI mode searches multiple websites to find real-time ticket options that meet your specific request. You will then be presented with a curated list of ticket prices to choose from. AI mode links directly to the reservation page so you can complete your purchase.

The new agent feature is available to all users who opt-in to Search Labs, Google’s experimental division in the US. The company says Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers will have access to higher limits.

Google first introduced the agent feature in AI mode in August, when it began allowing people to use the feature to find restaurant reservations.

This feature allows you to request dinner reservations based on multiple preferences, including party size, date, time, location, and preferred cuisine. For example, you could ask, “Please find me dinner reservations for three in the Logan Square area after 6pm this Friday. I’d like ramen or bibimbap.”

AI mode searches various reservation platforms to find restaurant availability matching your inquiry in real-time. You will then be presented with a curated list of options to choose from.

“At Google Search, our priority is to provide our users with trusted, high-quality information,” Google explained on its Search Labs page. “While this new mode is rooted in our core quality and safety systems, it is still an early experiment and mistakes may occur.”

Google first launched AI mode in March to compete with popular services like Perplexity AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search. Since then, the tech giant has introduced AI Mode to more than 180 countries and added and built on new features. For example, AI mode recently gained access to the Canvas feature, which helps you plan your studies and organize information across multiple sessions in the side panel. You can also now use Google Lens to ask what you see on your desktop screen.
