Tottenham Hotspur are supporting left-back Destiny Oudogie and his family after he was allegedly threatened with a gun in September.
On September 6, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with this incident.
Spurs issued a statement following the 4-0 win against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League, in which Udogi played.
A club spokesperson said: “We have provided support to Destiny and her family since the incident and will continue to do so.”
“As this is a legal matter, we cannot comment further.”
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced that a man was arrested two days after the incident involving Udogie, and the investigation continues.
A force spokesperson said: “At 11:14pm on Saturday, September 6, police received a report that a man in his 20s had been threatened with a gun.
“Officers spoke with the victim and during the course of the investigation it was also reported that another man in his 20s had also received blackmail and threats from the same person.
“No injuries were reported in either incident. On Monday, September 8, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent, intimidation and driving without a license. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.”
