Rox, a startup developing autonomous AI agents to boost sales productivity, has raised a new round of funding that values the company at $1.2 billion, according to multiple sources.

The funding included a major investment from returning backer General Catalyst, two of the people said. Rox and General Catalyst did not respond to TechCrunch’s requests for comment.

At the time of the financing, which closed last year, Rocks was expected to end 2025 with annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $8 million, according to two people familiar with the deal.

In November 2024, Rocks announced that it had raised a total of $50 million, including a seed round led by Sequoia and a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with participation from GV.

Rox was founded in 2024 by Ishan Mukherjee, former chief growth officer at New Relic. Mukherjee joined New Relic in 2020 after the company acquired Pixie, a software monitoring startup he co-founded.

The startup positions itself as an intelligent revenue operating system that connects to companies’ current software setups, from Salesforce to Zendesk, and deploys hundreds of AI agents. These agents monitor existing accounts, research leads, and update CRM software. By integrating these capabilities, Rox aims to replace and streamline the many fragmented software solutions currently used by sales teams.

“Rox’s unique AI agent system takes the CRM experience to the next level,” GV investor Dave Munichiello said in a 2024 blog post announcing the Series A round. “These agents are constantly working behind the scenes to monitor customer activity, identify potential risks and opportunities, and sometimes recommend the best course of action.”

Rox’s competition spans several categories, including established revenue intelligence providers like Gong and Clari, and AI sales development platforms like 11x and Artisan. New AI-native, all-in-one CRM competitors are also entering the space, like Monaco, a startup founded by Sam Blond, former head of corporate spending platform Brex, which quietly launched last month.

According to Rox’s website, its customers include Ramp, MongoDB, and New Relic.
